The build quality of this laser is astounding. It’s one of the best designs I have seen. It is simple and sweet. It’s KISS to the Max and the full copper construction allows it to evenly dissipate the heat throughout the whole body. Keeping the diode much cooler.
The only thing I notice is the button is a little loose. It still functions perfectly but that’s literally the only con I can find. And that’s really nitpicking. The polished finish is very well done. And it just looks beautiful. I love it when things are kept simple. When company’s try to make things too tacticool, that’s when I’m just like ok so why is this marked for no reason, why is this that shape? This laser has none of those (tacticoolness issues) this is just pure KISS and I love it.
One tip, keep a microfiber cloth handy on you at all times and this thing will stay looking good for as long as you keep it clean. Unless you want a patina on it, then by all means let it turn green and dull. Lol I just hate the smell of copper. And when this is polished you get zero Oder from it. I mean nothing at all. No metal smell or anything like that and that was something I was worried about. It turns out that when you keep copper polished it doesn’t emit any type of smell at all. I didn’t know that.
Wear your eye protection if you aren’t using this in the night sky. It only takes one little oops and you are then permanently blind all because you or someone accidentally passes over a 1” area that reflects the laser into your eye. Could be shiny plastic and the beam catches your eye. Or both of them. And that’s it, lights out.
That is one thing that cannot be ever shown enough. I feel like the safety of your eyes are the number one thing that should be at the top and bottom and description of every laser. I would rather be scared of these things and respect them. Then be foolish and blind someone or myself, unable to ever enjoy these beautiful things ever again.
I have a Sage 3W as well. It’s my newest laser. The one thing I wish they would sell for their lasers on this website are beam expanders. I need one that will fit this and also one that will fit the Sage. I would like a 3x adjustable expander. Mainly to allow better beam profile. To have that perfect dot further then to actually expand the beam. If you guys could sell those or at least give us the size we would need to buy. It would be much appreciated. And that isn’t a con that is just a request for all of their high end lasers.
